Nest Box Workshop in the Batesford Hall
Nest Box Workshop
Supporting Local Wildlife
Sunday 24 August 2025
Families built their own wildlife-friendly nesting boxes in the newly renovated Batesford Hall.
Bat expert Grant Baverstock talked about the importance of tree hollows in mature older trees for nesting sites and for protecting birds and bats. Deforestation removes the mature trees with such hollows, putting these animals at risk. The boxes act as nesting hollows for bats and birds.
Everyone enjoyed morning tea with like-minded people from Batesford, and also further afield from the Geelong region.
