National Tree Day for Schools July 2017

With showers forecast a very positive, energetic team of  five Covenant College staff, 65 Year 9 students and 8 Batesford Fyansford Stonehaven Landcare group (BFSLG) members,  ably lead by Ross Elijah and Bowen Davies from the City of Greater Geelong conservation Reserves Team planted a large number of trees, shrubs and grasses in the Moorabool River Reserve at Batesford.

This linear park is an important piece of remnant bushland with a pathway meandering alongside the Moorabool River.

Covenant College continue to support BFSLG projects and are aware of the importance of complexity and diversity in the landscape in maintaining its resilience.

Fortunately the weather held and the eager students were rewarded for their efforts with a delicious BBQ lunch skilfully prepared by BFSLG members Kaye Kovacs and Peter Dalitz.
